A comprehensive list of food allergens has been compiled by the Codex Alimentarius Commission of the World Health Organization and serves as the basis for global regulatory activities on food allergens. FDA certified color additives are not considered to be, nor do they contain substances identified as allergens by Codex Alimentarius.

 

Following is a list of the "Top Eight" Codex allergens:

Gluten and cereal grains containing gluten (barley, oats, wheat, triticale, etc.) and products of these

  •  Crustaceans, shellfish (mollusks), and products of these
  • Egg and egg products
  • Fish and fish products
  • Legumes, peas, peanuts, soybeans and products of these
  • Milk and milk products (lactose included)
  • Tree nuts, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and products of these
  • Sulfites in concentrations of 10 ppm or more

Additional allergens identified by other regulatory bodies:

  • Celery and celery products
  • Mustard and mustard products
  • Lupin and lupin products

 

TruColor follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including extension systems in the form of HACCP and SOP & SSOP) in place to prevent any cross contamination issues.
